Cracked, chipped or loose dentures can usually be repaired the same day, because our laboratory is on the premises at Bossley Park. Whether it’s a single chip, a loose fitting, or a complete break, our team assesses the damage and gets to work without you needing to leave and come back another day.

What we repair

Repairs and relines are different jobs. A repair fixes physical damage — a crack, a break, a broken clasp. A reline adjusts the fit of the denture base itself, which naturally changes over months and years even when nothing is broken. If you’re not sure which one you need, bring the dentures in and we’ll tell you.

Why same-day is usually possible

Because the lab is on-site, most repairs don’t need to be sent away. Your dentures come off, go straight to the bench, and are typically back in your hands within the day. For a more involved break, or where a section needs remaking, we’ll give you an honest timeframe before you leave rather than a guess.

What to bring

Bring the dentures themselves, even in pieces — technicians can usually work from broken fragments as long as nothing is missing or badly worn. Bring your health fund card too, in case a rebate applies.

Call us to book a repair, or use the contact form. We’re open Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. If your dentures break outside those hours, call as soon as we reopen and we’ll fit you in.

Why do dentures start to feel loose over time?

Your gums and jawbone keep changing shape after your teeth are gone, even years later, so a denture that fitted well when it was made can gradually stop matching the shape underneath it. This is normal and expected rather than a sign anything's gone wrong — it's what a reline is for, adjusting the fit of the existing denture to your current gum shape rather than making a new one. If it's been a while since your last check, or the looseness has come on quickly, it's worth bringing it in rather than waiting.

Can dentures be relined, or do I need a new denture?

Often a reline is enough — it adjusts the fit of your existing denture to your current gum shape, without replacing the denture itself, and it's a smaller job than making one from scratch. A new denture is usually only needed when the base is worn out, badly cracked, or the teeth themselves are excessively worn, rather than because the fit alone has changed. Bring your dentures in and we'll tell you honestly which one yours needs — we don't default to a remake when a reline would do.

Why do my dentures hurt?

Some soreness in the first couple of weeks with a new denture is normal, as your gums get used to the pressure — but pain that's sharp, in one specific spot, or ongoing well past the initial adjustment period usually means the fit needs adjusting, not something you should push through. Rubbing, biting your cheek, or a denture that's started to feel loose can all cause pain that wasn't there before. Tell us exactly where it hurts when you come in — that's the fastest way for us to fix the actual spot rather than adjusting the whole thing.
